Hey all :hand:

As part of our mission to bring awesome drone software, we focus intensively on sustainability (a.k.a. how to pay for development, bug fixes, new features, hosting, etc. for the benefit of all).

Open-source has unique funding challenges, mostly because of behavioral economics. We’re still figuring out what works and what doesn’t.

Today we want to try something new. We’ve built a platform (open-source, of course) to raise community funds using a novel idea called “quadratic funding”.

Love it! Shared it with the financial director for QGIS for them to check out as well.

I’ll try to contribute here shortly, but I might need to sell off some assets first (Anyone need/want Fuji X-T1 and/or RunCamHD2) since I’ve been on a camera buying spree recently :rofl:

:+1: I need to add some checks to the platform software, but technically pledges are limited to one pledge per fund, per person. So if you’ve already pledged, don’t pledge again! (We’ll make an exception for this one time @Saijin_Naib ).

I don’t know anyone else to help fund! I’m getting really stressed that we’ll miss the funding mark on this one :sob:

Just gave it a little hit. For those who may not have followed the quadratic funding info links, that’s quite a large multiplier to your donation. It would only take three or four more $25 donations for the OpenDroneMap Funding - Quadratik project to get funded and reduce a bottleneck in the processing pipeline. Very much worth it.
