A bit rushed for time as I had a doctors appointment regarding my broken ankle (2.5 weeks ago, but back on my feet now), so I didn’t get to manually take more images from the back side, meaning there are a few holes. My wife was climbing over the rocks while I was imaging, but moved enough to vanish from the ortho and PC.
It’s an outcrop of granite with commanding views of the surrounding plains, used in the 1800s by Captain Thunderbolt, a bushranger whose real name was Fred Ward.
I obtained good coverage of the front face of the main rocks, where RAYS A BAGFULL is still partially visible. That was the most prominent piece of graffiti in the mid 1970s when I first saw it (good quality paint!). Sadly, since then graffiti has covered much of the lower parts of the rock.
