Reflective Surfaces - Filters/Lens/Ideas

Hello everyone,

I’ve been making some tests of facade inspections with a DJI Mini 3 Pro. My intention is to understand this kind of service and its difficulties.

So, one of the most anoying things that I faced was the reflective surfaces (as seen in the picture below).

My main question here is: does anyone already uses filters like this one? Does it worked ? If no, any ideas of how can I minimize the reflections idex?

Thank you all in advance

A PL filter needs to be adjusted to the reflection to work right. So it’s not that easy.

mm, do you use a model ? Could you share with me a link for purchase?

I have not used a filter on my drone but I have used it on my slr so I know how it works.

I used a 90deg polarizing filter on my Hero4 on my Solo to cut down on scene reflectance. Worked reasonably well for agricultural survey, not sure it would be enough for high-spectral building surfaces.

Something to try

This is true. But also, unadjusted, any polarizing filter is likely to help some.

Also, I discovered to my cost that normal polarizing filters don’t work for IR. You have to get specialized filters for that. Probably not your use case, but a surprise to me that probably shouldn’t have been surprising.
