We have been making a lot of updates to https://docs.opendronemap.org. Now I am working on a tutorial section and I’m curious about the following: what drones are folx using for mapping, and what flight controllers? I’d like to have, if not a comprehensive list at least a representative list.
DJI Phantom 3 Advanced - DroneDeploy and DJI GS PRO
I’ll start; we use the following:
- Sensefly eBee with emotion 2 or 3
- DJI Mavic Pro with DroneDeploy or DJI GS Pro
- 3DR Solo with MissionPlanner
- RigiTech One with QGroundControl
- Foxtech VTOL Nimbus with QGroundControl
M600 Pro with Pix4DCapture
Yuneec H520 is the main drone I use now. Planning done on DataPilot, both on Android on the controller and on windows. DataPilot I believe is a reskinned version of QGroundControl.
My seldom used standby drone is a DJI Phantom 3 Pro. App of choice would probably be DJI GS Pro or Map Pilot if terrain follow would be required.
