Hi everyone,
I’m new to posting here, so I hope this is the right category.
I’ve been testing Gaussian Splatting as a visual progress documentation layer for drone-based construction captures.
This example shows several captures of the same industrial building site aligned into a 4D timeline. The surrounding area stays fixed as a reference while the building stage changes over time.
This was not processed with ODM, so I’m not presenting it as an OpenDroneMap result. I’m sharing it because I’m curious whether people here are experimenting with Gaussian Splatting alongside drone photogrammetry workflows.
I’m also not treating this as a replacement for orthomosaics, point clouds, GCP workflows, BIM or survey-grade outputs. The goal is more client-facing: a browser-based way to review and present how a site evolves visually over time.

Curious to hear if anyone is exploring this kind of visual layer for construction progress, heritage or staged documentation.
