WebODM Lightning Connection timeout error

Hi,

Good night, I have been using WebODM Lightning for about 2 months generating orthophotos with good GSD without any problem. Now I’m working with a new dataset that has failed in the process of generating the orthophoto, the error has been the same both times. The eror was:

"python: WARNING Task [Potrero 2 - 05 Nov] (c955d8e0-1f30-4cf2-95ca-453adb9978ef) connection/timeout error: HTTPSConnectionPool(host='spark1.webodm.net', port=443): Max retries exceeded with url: /task/94713b5d-3cd6-4ff1-b3f6-84277a6fc088/info?with_output=2523&token=db5c76f6-72f8-4b83-b0a5-168ed7efe3e8 (Caused by ConnectTimeoutError(<urllib3.connection.VerifiedHTTPSConnection object at 0x000001D889A00DD8>, 'Connection to spark1.webodm.net timed out. (connect timeout=30)')). We'll try reprocessing at the next tick.\r\n[2021-11-07 10:22:06,640: WARNING/MainProcess] worker.tasks.process_task[2c79bb16-515a-4cdd-a04e-8bd4611e0a60]: Task [Potrero 2 - 05 Nov] (c955d8e0-1f30-4cf2-95ca-453adb9978ef) connection/timeout error: HTTPSConnectionPool(host='spark1.webodm.net', port=443): Max retries exceeded with url: /task/94713b5d-3cd6-4ff1-b3f6-84277a6fc088/info?with_output=2523&token=db5c76f6-72f8-4b83-b0a5-168ed7efe3e8 (Caused by ConnectTimeoutError(<urllib3.connection.VerifiedHTTPSConnection object at 0x000001D889A00DD8>, 'Connection to spark1.webodm.net timed out. (connect timeout=30)')). We'll try reprocessing at the next tick.\r\n"

  • In the first process I have choosen high quality orthophoto → dsm: true, depthmap-resolution: 1000, dem-resolution: 2.0, orthophoto-resolution: 2.0
  • In the second run I have selected the same options as the first one but I have enabled skip 3d model enabled → 1000, skip-3dmodel: true, dsm: true, dem-resolution: 2.0, orthophoto-resolution: 2.0

What should I do to get a successfull process and generation of the orthophoto?

Number of images: 466
Size in MB:3,66GB
EXIF GPS (yes/no): yes
GCP (yes/no):No
RTK (yes/no):No

Thanks for your help.

Welcome!

Sorry you’re having a bit of trouble.

Could you maybe try adding the --auto-boundary option into the mix?

Sounds like a connection issue; the network seems to have been online OK the past 7 days: https://status.webodm.net/

How is the connection on your end?

Hi thanks for answering so fast.

Should I keep out of the equation to Skip model too ??

Hi,

Thanks for your answer, on my side, the notebook was suspended till I have received the email notification with the error mentioned above.

It really depends upon what you want from your output products. I prefer having the 3D model for the orthophotos, but it can be skipped safely depending upon what you want.

In this case, I’m not sure it needs to be skipped for troubleshooting.

The process is running right now, I hope in 3 or 4 hours I will know the results, and I will share the results.

What was the error message this time?

Hi,

Good mrorning, the errors this was the same when I reported this " Output could not be retrieved: HTTPSConnectionPool(host=‘spark1.webodm.net’, port=443): Read timed out. (read timeout=5)".

What can I do now?..

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Goof morning again, I have checked the dashboard and it seems that the problem is related to not have enough credits to process the dataset, I have moved my subscription to monthly and now I’m running again the process. I will give you feedback as soon as the process end.

Thanks again.

The process was succesfully terminated. The problem was related to available credits.
I think I made this mistake because the real required credit to process my images is not visible enough ( I didn’t see it ).
The cost calculator it´s a really a good tool, but at the same it’s a bit confusing, because the real cost of credts does not depends only on how many hectares had I flown. It would be great to have a complex cost calculator where the users can enter GSD, altitud and image resolution to obtain a more accurate required amount of credit, this is good to buy the correct amoiunt of credits and don´t have “problems” like mine

Thanks a lot for your help and for mantaining this great tool for us.

Best regards
