WebODM docker version stop run in 2-3 hours

I run a more than 1000 images project last night.
It stop at around 2-3 hours.
I have made sure workstation was not set to sleep, was kept on.
This morning, I run it again.
It stop again. When I check it, its time only 2:33:xx, it should have run around 8hours.

I copy some last moments log as below:
2022-03-08 19:20:31,090 DEBUG: Found 214455 points in 20.62667942047119s

The time is counting, but I don’t think it is working. Any suggestion?

Also the running log time looks different. Almost 9 hours more than my current time. I am in PDT zone.

It looks like it is running. Check your CPU usage.

It also looks like it might be swapping, which will slow things down massively.

How much RAM do you have assigned to your Docker, and what is your Docker swap like?

The time counting is wrong. Either it stop somewhere and when I check it again, it counts again.
Since it was counting again, I leave it overnight. This morning, showing over 2 hours.
even I click cancel, it can’t be cancel for over 30 minutes. I have to restart computer.

I setup 200GB ram for webODM.

Displaying Diagnostic Info then going back to your task will usually update the timer.

BTW, my diagnostics only shows storage space, I’ve never seen Memory use displayed there, how do you get that to display?

yours maybe the windows version. My windows version almost 10 times slower than docker version.

Yes I’m using the Windows version, but don’t remember any huge increase in times taken for processing when I changed over from using Docker.

It still looks like you’re swapping out. How much physical RAM does your host have? How much more can you allocate to Docker?

Our Windows native version doesn’t display free RAM at the moment, like the Dockerized versions do.

Samdrone is one of a few folks who has slower WebODM for Windows native performance when compared to Docker. I’ve not been able to reproduce the behavior.

I think one reason maybe I install docker in a SSD and windows version in hard disk.

i just found out maybe the SSD run out when processing. I am empty some space for SSD.

I don’t know how to change the ram and file. I have 256GB physical RAM.

You can try tuning your .wslconfig according to Microsoft’s documentation:

Thank you. I am not able to change wslconfig. Instead, I deleted all past projects. Now I have some space.

When the odm is running, still have some space left.

A little bit surprise, the app use more storage instead using RAM.
