Use cases for Tiles

I’d like to learn more about the uses of tiles from mapping. Think I can sort out the “how to”, but it’d help a lot to know the purposes for which people are using tiles. If you’re using the tiles outputs, I’d appreciate knowing what you’re using them for. Thanks for your patience/help… Bob R.

Rapid serving of data. Really only makes sense in a hosted web map sense.

Properly tiled geotiff does the same for a single local file.
