Is a cluster the only way to take advantage of split-merge?
looking at the documentation it kind of implies immediately to cluster after describing what split merge does.
I assume a cluster is the more efficient way to do it, but I’m hoping that split merge is also a way to process very large data sets in smaller chunks on one machine.
No: it will run on a single node, it just proceeds sequentially across submodels rather than using more than one computer at a time.
edit: Also, thanks for asking directly. I remember this doubt buried in another post of yours and I meant to address it, but forgot to get back to that post.
