After a long search on the forum (I certainly missed my answer)
I wanted to install on another mac (M1) my account to work remotely from my office mac, but when I installed everything, it put me “welcome new user” so I stopped to do not plant my orthophotos already registered. how can i work on another mac with my account?
I dry (I’m sure there is the answer in the forum, but I did not find).
The mysteries of the Mac world are something I know nothing about, so I have no idea if it could read anything from a windows file system, or vice versa.
However, I’m sure the Windows native version wont work on a Mac, perhaps unless you have a virtual windows machine, which I think is a thing…
The way I understand it, the license is good to install on as many machines as you want, but there is not a central database that syncs account across those machines webodm is installed on, however if you want to view or demo on your laptop, setup webodm on your desktop to be accessible to the internet and just log in through the web on your laptop.
No, you don’t need to pay per machine. The processed data just do not roam. You are free to install it wherever you wish, though, and sign into Lightning (if that’s what you are going to process with) any number of times.
As for mixed Windows and Mac, you’ll need separate installers for both platforms.
I do not want to create controversy at all because the price of the license is ridiculous. but I want to try to understand… Why when I downloaded (webodm and docker) on my M1 (my new computer) it put me hello new user “with the welcome glitter”
What is in fact the manipulation for webodm (not lightning) to have the same orthophotos on the 2 computers.
If it is necessary to take another license, it is not a problem… Happy holidays to all
We have no infrastructure in place to migrate your locally created account and data used with node-odm-1 on a given machine to another machine, so you can not roam your profiles and data between machines easily. You are working locally, on a local-only account with a local-only processing node. It all stays on that one machine.
Accounts created for Lighting can be accessed from any number of machines, but again, we do not roam data between machines (though you can export the data from Lighting using the WebUI Dashboard within the retention period of 14 days).
When I go to install on my second machine I only see windows where I have to pay again for it. Is there somewhere to sign in or login that I have missed?
How do I install on a second machine without having to pay again?
