Quality. Enterprise Dual

Hello Everyone

I’m SUPER new to mapping. I have the Enterprise Dual. I’m wanting to make a 3D model. I used the preset settings of 70% overlapping and my photo turned out really "dotted’ looking. I’m assuming I need to increase my overlap.

My question what else can I do increase the quality.

It would help out if you can post your processing parameters (console log) and it is recommended for a good 3d model that images should overlap by 85%.

console log can be downloaded from your task output. to the right of task output click the ON button, then on the right there is a little download , arrow button. Primarily the parameters used for the reconstruction will be in the top 40 or so lines.

when you click on “view 3d model” on the top left there should be a menu item that says “textured model”, you clicked on this and selected show model?

Yes I clicked textured. That made a huge difference.

Yes that is the console log. Here is a tutorial another user posted a while back that explains a good method of capturing images for 3d models. Dronelink 3D Modeling - End to End on Vimeo

I would suggest fixing the gimbal pitch to non-nadir angle. something around -75 and if you want more detail and your WebODM machine can handle it is setting feature-quality to ultra and pc-quality to ultra. Theres a few other settings that can help as well like increasing mech octree and mesh size.

just be aware that increasing feature quality and pc quality to ultra will have a big impact on the amount of ram webodm will require and if your machine does not have a lot of ram you may run into issues depending on the amount of images you are processing.

you can select to make changes to the task in the options / edit button and the task options will be there. If you can show off the final reconstruction

The highest setting is high i didn’t see an ultra.

The 3d map only has 36 photos with all pointing directly down so my next map I have an oblique setting I’ll do that with more photos.

Were you using Lightning? It doesn’t have ultra feature extraction. You need to use your own machine to be able to use ultra feature extraction.

Going from 36 photos to 200+ at a top down level and side levels big difference.

Any ideas as to how I can get ultra setting? I’m using the M1 Apple processor. It’s one of the most powerful processors out there so I can’t image why I’m not getting ultra setttings?
