New to WebODM - Process exited with code 1

Hi everyone,

We ar really new to this, we are mostly interested in webodm for 3d model of buildings for solar installations.

We have had some experience with other platforms but decided to try something else.

I em trying to create a 3d Model of a house from 145 images (2 fligths based on previous software experiences) but after several attempts and moving some parameters based on some other posts (the last one lasted 1.5 hours) I got again the process exited with code 1.

As we have zero experience but a lof enthusiast and interest, I am uploading the task output to rceive support to know if it’s quality of the set of images or processing or a hardware issue.

What kind of specs are you running that analysis on? Seems like it might have run out of RAM/SWAP.

I am very new to this as well but I am getting that error code 1 also. I tried two different groups of pictures. did run it through one time with a few pictures and it ran all the way through.

We were on holiday break.
I am glad to hear that it’s potentially the RAM and not pictures quality.

I am using WebODM on a laptop with the following specs:
Intel I7-6500 @2.5 GHz
12 GB RAM

I have seen some posts to manually increase the RAM of WebODM, however i can’t seem to find the icon in the taskbar or on the menu options of WebODM.

Any tips on how to know/increase the RAM of WebODM?

The method can vary depending on how you have it installed and what OS you’re running on.

Are you using docker? Linux or windows as host?

I have Windows 10 64 bit.

I am sorry for my ignorance, I dont really remember how I installed it some time ago.
When I want to open it, I open WebODM then I click start WebODM and it does some steps and then allows me to click on the local address.

If am not mistaken it uses VirtualBox

Oh, that’s an interesting install!
Looks like you’ve assigned it about 7.3GB RAM at boot, but with only 12GB total in the system, you’re going to run out before long quite easily.

Within your webODM VM, do you happen to know how much SWAP you have setup?

I really dont know how it was installed, I think I just followed the steps at the time.
I don’t know either how those 7.3 GB rams where assigned.
I do see that the Virtual Box states that the system is Linux, and in the console of WebODM it looks like it thinks its Linux…
In the past I did a couple of 3D models some months ago and I had no issues

The dataset is usually comprised of 100 - 150 images taken with a DJI Spark.

We’ve made a number of changes and updates to OpenDroneMap in the past few months, many which have greatly improved the quality of the output products. Myself and others have noticed that the same projects run a bit ā€œheavierā€ now than before, but do look much nicer.

I think that I solved all - or most - ā€˜exit with code 1’ by assigning more memory. Had to go to 32 G for one set of about 170 8K images.
