There is constant work being done to ODM (as you’ve noted) that will get pushed to the WebODM desktop clients eventually.
I would think of WebODM desktop clients more like Debian vs Arch (WebODM Lightning/Linux/Docker) if you’re familiar with the Linux world. They tend to hang back a bit and wait for the bleeding-edge changes to be tested elsewhere, but always get critical fixes immediately. Sometimes though, the WebODM Desktop clients are even ahead of the other platforms
