Mini2 output in high winds

This was flown yesterday, max drone speed set in dronelink at 20MPH, had 12 drone too far off course messages due to wind gusting up to 21MPH, but still got this result using default settings on my laptop

How far off course does it have to be for the warning to appear?

Have you looked at the camera position overlay to see how wobbly the flight path was?

Hi Gordon, here’s the camera positions from Dronelink, a few times it would take a couple of attempts to get the mission to restart, and I think some were just a case of the drone was behind schedule du to the winds, I’d almost constantly got a high wind warning showing

This is where according to Dronelink estimates it should have taken photos

I’ve often flown with high wind warnings appearing, but my M2P generally manages to get good images from close to where it should be at the time, although I have stopped and re-started from a previous waypoint a few times when I noticed motion blur.

However, once when I was flying in strong winds in a hilly area it hit some bad turbulence, I could see the drone moving around a by rather disturbing amount, and the image on my screen was bouncing all over the place, so I immediately cancelled the flight plan and landed without incident.

The Mini 2 never fails to amaze me, last week I flew it into the branches of some trees, it dropped 1 foot, recovered with no action from me and carried on

I agree, the Mini 2 is a great drone. My Mini 2 made a recovery I didn’t think possible when I hit some branches. It appeared to turn almost 90° on its side, dropped several feet, and recovered. With the fixed focus lens, I have also gotten some night shots that were in focus (everything is always in focus…), whereas when I tried the same shot with my Phantom 4 Pro, it was unable to obtain good focus and all shots from it were soft. And the Mini 2 works with Litchi…

Gary, that sounds very much like my coming together with trees the other week, the recovery really amazed me.

Although I’ve got Litchi, I rarely use it, as my flying software of choice is Dronelink
