Mapping Forest Issues

Hey,

I’m pretty new to odm though i did mapping with Qgis and Photos before. I’m mainly mapping my forestry using my Air2s and only need georeferenced Orthophotos. In my last Project i ran into some Issues mapping Ways in the Forest, they are to wide and not really well matched. You can see it here in the Picture circeld Red. Also some trees are looking 3d-like which ist not usefull. Maybe someone acknowledgs this Errors and can help me on the Settigs ? overlap is about 80/75 and GSD is about 5cm /pixel

First tests of ODM. We use drones for plant ecology research and use Metashape but we want to learn ODM. I used the Forest settings but the orthomosaic quality is not great relative to what we get in Metashape. First output is from Metashape. [metaodm] Second image is ODM. Notice the much higher quality of Metashape output. ODM seems blurry relative to Metashape. There are also seamlines in the ODM result that are much more apparent. I imagine it is possible to improve the quality of the OD…

Had a look at the topic and tried that, my PC ist still processing since 6 hours (155 Pictures, normal Time for that ?) but how will feature quality improve the matiching of the Photos, i thought it will improve the Sharpness of the picture or am i wrong ?

Feature Quality controls the image resolution used for feature matching and extraction.

–orthophoto-resolution controls the “sharpness” of the resultant orthophoto.
