Made some gcp's but can't import them correctly

#1

Hello,

Last sutherday i made some GPS control points with my trimble, the format that i get from this device are:

2,52°24’03.82773"N,6°16’36.30721"E,47.852,asf-n
4,52°24’05.17315"N,6°16’39.21870"E,47.922,asf-n
3,52°24’07.01367"N,6°16’35.09524"E,47.457,asf-n
1,52°24’05.18540"N,6°16’33.88689"E,47.530,asf-n
5,52°24’05.02707"N,6°16’36.55102"E,47.853,piket

Or like this:

1,215492.373,490771.771,4.555,asf-n
2,215538.642,490730.374,4.876,asf-n
3,215514.522,490828.555,4.483,asf-n
4,215593.168,490772.631,4.947,asf-n
5,215542.795,490767.497,4.877,piket

What is the best way to make the GCP_list.txt file. I have done several formats but each time it will not load or it loads but i get no points on the map. I use a mavic pro to fly over the controle points that i marked on the ground.
Here are the photo’s that i shot:

Hi @aapie – your best bet is to convert the first set of coordinates to decimal degrees instead of degrees, minutes, decimal seconds. Here’s one website for doing this:

Then, as your header / first line, add the proj4 string:
+proj=longlat +ellps=WGS84 +datum=WGS84 +no_defs

Let us know how it goes!

#3

First of all thank you for your reply. This is what i have now, but it stil not apear on the map. De file loads but no gcp’s are seen on the map.

+proj=longlat +ellps=WGS84 +datum=WGS84 +no_defs

gcp01 52.401440 6.276079
gcp02 52.401063 6.276752
gcp03 52.401948 6.276415
gcp04 52.401437 6.277561
gcp05 52.401396 6.27682

I have tried several possibilities. I make the file in notepad is this ok?

If i put one of the coordinates in google maps is shows the right spot.

Ok, i am a step forwards.

+proj=longlat +ellps=WGS84 +datum=WGS84 +no_defs

gcp01 6.276079 52.401440
gcp02 6.276752 52.401063
gcp03 6.276415 52.401948
gcp04 6.277561 52.401437
gcp05 6.276820 52.401396

Is shows point 3,4 and 5… But 1 and 2 not…

#5

Try adding your Z value too (in meters).

#6

Super weird, i added the Z value, it did not show. Then i deleted the Z value. Tried again and all the 5 points shows up on the map. Its the same setting as before. Can it be that there are some hidden tabs or spaces?

+proj=longlat +ellps=WGS84 +datum=WGS84 +no_defs

gcp01 6.276079 52.401440
gcp02 6.276752 52.401063
gcp03 6.276415 52.401948
gcp04 6.277561 52.401437
gcp05 6.276820 52.401396

#7

But it works for now… is running the images. Next time i try to add height. Thx for the support!
