I used ODM to create a georectified TIFF using my drone (Mavic 2 Zoom) and Pix4D. I was astounded with the image. I then found the LAZ file that ODM had created, used PDAL to convert it to a LAS file and viewed it on http://plas.io/. Again, very impressed with what can be done with a set of 2d images.
My question is whether flying a a double grid mission would improve the point cloud data? TIA.
Check out the Self calibration of Cameras series of blog posts from https://www.opendronemap.org/2019/09/self-calibration-of-cameras-from-drone-flights/. It may answer your question.
I need to add this to the OpenDroneMap blog too: https://smathermather.com/2019/12/16/optimizing-flight-planning-for-calibration/
