Important Code Update: Fix PoTree 3D Model Generation and Viewing

As of today (2022-05-09), there is a fixup that will actually address the prior update (v1.9.14 Build 58) fix to PoTree model viewing.

WebODM for Windows native users, please update immediately the below release:

WebODM Manager users (MacOS and Windows [legacy]) and Docker users can update as per usual.

Any models processed in the past two days might need to be re-processed to show up as they were generated in a format that is too new for PoTree to render (at the moment). Subsequent models from this point on should always display properly.

I updated a few hours ago, it failed to complete downloading the first 2 attempts, but did complete on the 3rd go :slight_smile:

I have no command line experience and used a purchased installer. How can I update to latest version? I am unable to view 3D after updating to Windows 11.

Welcome!

No command-line experience needed. You can access the update by using the Tools menu in WebODM and choosing Update Now, or by re-downloading the installer from the link emailed to you during purchase as that should always point to the latest installer.

Has GPU feature extraction been disabled in latest Windows build?

Latest build:
[INFO] Maximum photo dimensions: 5472px
[INFO] Photo dimensions for feature extraction: 2736px
[INFO] CUDA drivers detected
[WARNING] Cannot use GPU for feature extraction: Cannot initialize CUDA

Latest build I was using 2 weeks ago:

[INFO] Photo dimensions for feature extraction: 2736px
[INFO] CUDA drivers detected
[INFO] Using GPU for extracting SIFT features

I’m also wondering about this, does feature_quality: override resize_to: ?

…

As I would expect feature extraction to be at 2048 wide, and for high feature_quality the extraction is done from 2736 pixel wide images rather than 2048 if that is specified.

Yes, provided --resize-to is at a default/unset value.

Installed, but the issue persists-

Even making the images smaller and using lower quality settings, GPU is not used with the latest build.

Updating to latest driver didn’t make any difference, so GPU feature extraction does seem to have been disabled somehow.
