Hello from Canada

Hi! I’m from Canada and am a surveyor.

I’ve started to use a drone primarily for measuring stockpile volumes. I use TBC and Civil3D for most survey/surface work but wasn’t sure what to do for photogrammetry. I’ve tried Pix4D and Metashape so far but I’m really impressed with ODM.

Thanks to all that have contributed!

Hi gjoelthiessen79,

It’s nice to have you here!

Regarding stockpile measurements, I can tell that for carefully planned and executed jobs, ODM results are comparable to those from Pix4D and Metashape. And when familiar to ODM, you will feel more in control of the process as compared to Pix4D.

You can be confident that volume meassurement accuracy will be within 1% to 3%, for a 1cm GSD or smaller.
