Difficulty Processing with WebODM

I feel I’ve been scammed. I purchased a $59.25 for what I thought was a program to run on my computer, and now when I first use it, I find out that you have to “upload” everything. Not cool!

You’re not uploading to the internet; the processing happens to your computer (you’re “uploading” to a local processing node). Try it! Disconnect your computer and you’ll see that it still works.

If you’re not happy with your purchase you can also request a full refund.

Yep, as Piero mentioned, you’re basically “uploading” data from the directory it is stored in on your local drive to a copy within NodeODM, a component of the entire WebODM ecosystem that does the processing.

The Web part of WebODM is the WebUI/Interface that allows for the same UI/UX to be easily portable across any OS and device form-factor. This however, does not mean it is an online program, as the WebUI is used to control and render your local data and processes.

You can use any flipping language you want to, but the images are still being uploaded. I didn’t know I would have to do this and PAY MORE! Please refund my money. My next step is to give bad reviews and contact my credit card company to dispute the charges. PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY!

I tried to use the “node-odm-1” and I sat here and watched the bar not move for hours while “uploading” . Something was wrong with it. I don’t have that kind of time. I have a pretty fast internet connection 50mb/sec. PLEASE GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!

Please reach out directly to the team at UAV4Geo to get your refund:

This is a community forum for the software, not UAV4Geo’s support channel. It is not an appropriate place for this conversation, especially if you haven’t contacted the UAV4Geo Team to initiate your refund.

You are uploading from one location on your computer to another location, in my case from a 500GB SSD to a 1TB SSD, where WebODM and the node are located. Perhaps transferring would be better terminology than upload, since it is not going to the internet.
My uploads are limited by the speed of the 500GB drive, it makes no difference whether or not my dodgy internet connection is working, as it is not going anywhere beyond my computer!
Your version of WebODM will be running on your computer too, internet connection speed is irrelevant.

As Stephen mentioned, please reach out to us at [email protected] so we can support you to get your local processing node working properly, or alternatively get your refund started if you do not wish to troubleshoot further.

And as Gordon said, yes, it isn’t going anywhere but from one of your local drives to another of your local drives (or in the case of the same drive, drive-to-drive in a different directory). It is a file copy, and your data is not leaving your machine.

There is no flipping of language; just trying to help de-mystify the process and the verbiage that has been adopted within it.

Ok, I will try to let it run overnight and see if any of the projects make any progress. My computer is very high end, but a few years old. There shouldn’t be any problem with it processing this.

It may be a configuration issue, install issue, or something else.

Reach out and I can always remote in to take a look and try to fix things hands on
