Cuda vs CPU ram use?

After two failures processing 335 images, the second time lowering split, I tried disabling Cuda.

Strange thing is that running with Cuda uses all 64gig ram plus swap space but only using CPU hardly fills it.

This in the Undistorting stage before pointcloud stuff
