Counting trees - forestry?

Hi

Is anybody using any tools to do tree counts for forestry from ODM generated orthos? Preferably a QGIS plugin?

We have a partner in our ecosystem, FieldImageR:

You can host R via QGIS, so this might be an avenue for you to explore?

I don’t have any direct experience with this, but it’s a set of tools I would also like to figure out. I have a hunch based on on some material here that a combination of Orfeo Toolbox (OTB) and QGIS will get you what you need. Please update this thread if you explore this combo, and I will do the same.

I’m exploring options my self for counting stems and measuring projected foliage coverage.
