Drones are addicting and I am always on the prowl for the next best thing. I have two DJI drones but would like to spread out to other manufacturers for my next purchase some day?. Who has experience with the EVO II and what do you think? Also I imagine it is a supported drone with ODM?
I think I upstreamed a sensor database entry for that, but I’m not sure.
In theory, practially any camera system with the exception of funky stuff (looking at you Parrot!) and multispectral should basically be out of the box. If not, I can usually find what I need to make a camera database file pretty easily on reputable stuff, of which the Autel certainly are.
I have no first-hand experience, but I do rather like their platform. If only they were MAVLink compatible…
A bunch of the law enforcement / public safety drone people in this area use Autel and like them a lot. Supposedly a higher quality materials and software, and better pilot experience than comparable Parrot equipment. I have not used one but I’ve been looking for an excuse to try. With Autel I believe you are limited to using their app for flight planning/mapping, so you won’t have the options you have with DJI - Pix, DroneDeploy, etc etc. But I hear their app is quite good for that.
