Can Someone Explain What the Algorithm “MSR” is under the plant health view?

MSR is the Modified Soil Ratio index.

I’ve not used it, but the point of it seems to be an index with better local and global contrast than NDVI and higher SNR than NDVI, while retaining similar functionality/applicability, by working off of the Red and NIR bands, just like NDVI.
