Hello, world.

I am Astério S. Heidemann, from Brazil.

I just graduated from the Federal University of Paraná (Curitiba, Brazil) with a bachelor’s degree in Forestry Engineering. I focused my course in remote sensing and I am strongly considering using a drone as a work tool. I am very interested in ODM.

I wish I could buy a Mavic 2 Pro, but I believe I will settle for a Mavic Air 2. The price difference between them in Brazil is gigantic and, as I just graduated, I’m on a short budget.

Thank you all for creating this community.

Welcome Astério. We are glad you have joined!

Hello everyone,

That’s a pretty interesting use case. Keep us updated!

Hello everyone!

My name is Daniel and I am from Argentine Patagonia.
I am very new to this. I have just acquired a Drone DJI Mavic Air 2, and I have found this forum which I find very interesting to learn and share experiences.

I take advantage of making a consultation taking advantage of so many experts on the subject: do you know any application that allows planning the mapping flights of the DJI mavic air 2?

Thank you.

Welcome! We are glad to have you join. That is a beautiful region I haven’t had the pleasure to visit.

Flight planning is not yet possible with any of the Mavic Airs. Follow this thread for updates: https://github.com/dji-sdk/Mobile-SDK-Android/issues/455

DJI is aiming for support for the Mavic Air 2 in September according to this part of the thread: https://github.com/dji-sdk/Mobile-SDK-Android/issues/455#issuecomment-624423625

Hi OPM community! I´m also newbie drone user. Found OPM searching online for drone and mapping softwares. I´m from southern Chile. Hope to learn and get insights from everyone here concerning drone mapping related topics.

Cheers and look forward to using OPM :+1:

Hi Daniel! I´m on the very same situation as you are…also got a Mavic Air 2 recently. We are on similar latitudes I think, I´m a bit to the west though, writing from Patagonia also, but from Chile! I´m replying to you in english since that way I think it works better for the community overal.

Concerning your question, I have the same inquiry…from what I´ve checked, apps like DroneDeploy and Pix4d still don´t have a Mavic Air 2 support. The MA2 is pretty new, so we might have to wait a bit. Would be useful to read some comments from more experiencing users?

Anyways, regards and good luck on your projects!

The Mavic Air 2 (I don’t think) has DJI API support, but they just (yesterday) added Mavic Air support, which is a good sign for things to come.

I forgot I looked this up. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for the info @smathermather

Hi everyone,

I am from India. I am new to this GIS and photogrammetry and image processing stuff.
I am working on setting up a complete automatic end to end process, that will take drone images from user, and upload to the server, and the output from the drone data will be shown on the map. I found that I could establish the above with the help of ODM. Also, this community is very good.

Thanks

Hello, I’m Luis from Colombia. Hope everything is going well for you and your families during these crazy times.

I’ve been using ODM for a couple of months but I have a lot more to learn. Eventually, I expect to share with you the experiences and results of my work using this platform.

Thanks a lot to the ODM team and its community for this awesome solution.

Fantastic. Welcome!

Aloha everyone, I’m excited to try out Open Drone Map. I’ve been a long time user of Pix4D and am familiar with many other commercial options, but this is my first dive into Open Source options. I have been a long time GIS professional and even worked for Pix4D as a Technical Trainer up until Covid impacted the demand for traveling trainers… I’m now working with the Team at Multicopter Warehouse and looking forward to creating some webinars to explain how Open Drone Map works. Thanks for all the hard work to the folks who have gotten to software so far developed. I look forward to seeing what all can be done. I’m happy to help with any Drone Mapping related questions as well.
Best Regards,
Aaron Woods
